Do WWE Have Plans For AJ Lee After CM Punk Namedrop On Raw?

AJ Lee WWE

CM Punk had the WWE crowd in the palm of his hand on Monday Night Raw but questions have now been asked if AJ Lee could be set for a return of her own.

CM Punk shocked the world when he returned to WWE at Survivor Series after ten years away from the company. He infamously walked out of WWE in early 2014 and eventually received his release papers on his wedding day later that year.

Punk’s wife is well known to WWE fans as well as AJ Lee was one of the most popular stars of the 2010s and was featured in main event segments on Raw long before WWE started to refer to the women’s evolution.

On Raw in Nashville, Punk maintained his streak of naming non-WWE employed people in his landmark promos in the company. He named both Paul Heyman and Colt Cabana when both were gone from WWE during his famous pipe bomb promo in 2011. This time it was AJ Lee herself he mentioned and it got many wondering if they might see one more run for the popular former Divas Champion.

Does WWE Have Plans For AJ Lee After CM Punk Shout Out?

PWInsider has reported that currently there have been no discussions about AJ Lee coming back to WWE. It is noted that Lee retired from the ring due to health reasons, having had her last match in the company in March 2015.

A cameo appearance at some point is suggested as a possibility but many fans of Lee’s will be hoping that this could all lead to a well-deserved Hall of Fame induction for her sooner rather than later.
