Disaster Strikes As AEW Forced To Cancel Collision
There’s bad news for AEW as the company has been forced to cancel Saturday’s live Collision show.
Dynamite took place on January 21st in Orlando, Florida, with Kenny Omega competing in his first singles match since All In Texas, when he battled Kazuchika Okada. Omega took on Josh Alexander of The Don Callis Family, with the former AEW World Champion picking up the victory.
There was more bad news for The Don Callis Family on the night as Hechicero, Lance Archer, and Rocky Romero lost a trios match to the Death Riders.
The Timeless Love Bombs of Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa ran into a major roadblock as they lost to the pairing of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. Swerve Strickland moved one step closer to earning an AEW World Championship match as he defeated Kevin Knight.
But there was more action than originally planned.
Weather Causes Havoc For AEW
AEW announced before Dynamite that they had been forced to cancel the live Collision show at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The area is braced for a winter storm of snow and ice that is going to hit much of the southern United States, which is what led to the cancellation.
Instead, AEW taped Collision, which will air as usual on Saturday night after the live Dynamite show went off the air.
Claudio Castagnoli will defend his CMLL Heavyweight Title against Roderick Strong, and Andrade El Idolo will battle Magnus on Collision. Hangman Adam Page will battle The Opps Katsuyori Shibata, and Willow Nightingale will defend her TBS Title for the first time against Julia Hart.
