Legendary wrestler Dennis Condrey has passed away.

Dennis Condrey was a talented wrestler who was part of the legendary tag team known as the Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton, and managed by Jim Cornette. Sadly, Dennis Condrey passed away at the age of 76, according to PWInsider and other outlets. Condrey was 74.

The Midnight Express was a legendary tag team that was known for feuding with the Rock N Roll Express in the 1980s. The Midnights were the heels, and R&R were the faces, and the fans loved their matches all over the world. The Rock N Roll Express are in the WWE Hall of Fame, but the Midnight Express have not been inducted.

Condrey started his pro wrestling career in 1973 and had a long run that ended in the indies around 2011.

During his Midnight Express run in the 1980s, he worked for Mid-South Wrestling, WCCW, and Jim Crockett Promotions, among other places. Crockett would move on to the AEW and the new-look WCW after that.

During his WCW run, Condrey was briefly managed by WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman, who was very early in his legendary career.

As for championships, Condrey won plenty of those, including the Mid-South Tag Team Titles with Bobby Eaton as the Midnight Express. Condrey also won the NWA Southern Tag Team Titles an incredible 9 times.

Condrey appeared on AEW television with the FTR tag team and CM Punk, so AEW paid tribute to Condrey as well.

AEW’s Dax Harwood Sets Up GoFundMe To Support Dennis Condrey’s Family

In a touching tribute on Instagram, AEW World Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood posted a message about Dennis Condrey while also setting up a GoFundMe to support Condrey’s family.

My Friend, Dennis.

GoFundMe set up in his memory in my bio.

Greatest of All Time scenarios will always be a hot button for debate. However, when it comes to greatest tag teams of all time, almost always is The Midnight Express brought up. I’ve watched my fair share of tag team matches; maybe more than anyone! I can tell you with absolute honesty and sincerity, I’ve never seen a better Tag Team than Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton.

Over the last 5 years, Dennis has allowed me the privilege of being a friend. Seeing him and His beautiful wife Theresa always made me feel like I was part of their family.

Dennis and I would text after every match I had. He would always tell me what he liked and what he felt I could work on. That is something that’ll never be lost on me. One of my heroes loved me enough to take time out of his day to let me know how proud he was of me.

I loved that man and I’ll do everything I possibly can over the next few years I have left in the business, to keep his and the Midnight Express’ spirit alive. They paved this road so all other tag teams could walk easier.

God Bless a true Pioneer of Professional Wrestling

Rest in Peace “Loverboy” Dennis Condrey.

TJRWrestling sends our condolences to Dennis Condrey’s family, friends, and fans all around the world.
