Darby Allin shocked the world when he defeated MJF for the AEW World Championship in the main event of the Dynamite after AEW Dynasty. Ever since becoming champion, he has been defending his belt on every episode of Dynamite.

Tonight was a special edition of Dynamite, which saw the return of WWE icon Sting, who came out to the ring during the opening segment of the show to pay his respects to Ted Turner.

The show was also scheduled to feature multiple championship matches, including Darby Allin’s defense of his World Championship against the TNT Champion, Kevin Knight, after he was promised one on last week’s episode.

Kevin Knight came close to becoming a double champion in AEW

The two men went to war with each other in the main event of AEW Dynamite tonight and the champion was pushed to his limit by Kevin Knight. They wrestled an interesting match which almost saw Allin lose the title on multiple occasions.

Knight came closest to winning the title after hitting Allin with a Coast to Coast and followed that up with the UFO Splash. However, an injury to his knee delayed the cover, giving Allin just enough time to kick out in time.

Allin ultimately picked up the win after hitting him with a Coffin Drop, following which Sting came out to the ring. He reunited with his protege in the ring before giving props to Knight and the two opponents shared a moment of respect with each other.
