Brock Lesnar’s latest return to WWE received mixed reactions.

Lesnar last competed on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42, where he faced Oba Femi in a singles match. In the lead-up, The Beast Incarnate suffered humiliating beatdowns at the hands of The Ruler on multiple occasions, potentially planting doubts in his mind about overcoming this new threat.

At the Show of Shows, the 48-year-old started cautiously, but picked up momentum by hitting multiple German Suplexes on Femi. He even hit an F5 shortly afterward, but saw Femi getting up as soon as he went down.

Brock Lesnar then charged at Oba only to be dropped with a chokeslam. Femi then lifted a dazed Lesnar before dropping him with his Fall From Grace finisher for the surprise win.

Following his loss, Lesnar sat in the middle of the ring, removed his gloves and shoes, and placed them in the center. He then thanked the fans as they watched a potential retirement unfold, although it was not announced beforehand.

The 10-time WWE Champion even threw an ‘X’ sign towards Paul Heyman, indicating he was done. He went backstage with fans cheering his name and thanking him for the memories.

Brock Lesnar Returns On WWE Raw

After defeating Brock Lesnar, Oba Femi announced an open challenge for the weekly Raw shows. Along the way, he crushed Otis before defeating Los Garza’s Angel and Berto in a 2-on-1 handicap match.

Earlier this week, Femi arrived for another open challenge. While posing for the fans, he was blindsided by Lesnar, who struck him hard on the back of the head. He then followed it up with four F5s before leaving the arena, as the fans came to terms with his return.

It also made viewers wonder whether Lesnar’s retirement was a ploy all along to catch Femi off guard.

Earlier reports suggested that Lesnar might retire at SummerSlam in August while facing Gunther. Gunther, on the other hand, has earned the moniker of “The Career Killer,” having retired 3 WWE legends since 2025.

Elsewhere, Jonathan Coachman speculated that Brock Lesnar might not be keen on wrestling Gunther and becoming just a name on the list of wrestlers he has retired from wrestling.

Gunther Discusses The Possibility Of Wrestling Brock Lesnar

Gunther is scheduled to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Clash In Italy on May 31.

The Ring General was recently moved to the SmackDown brand, something which Paul Heyman confirmed making it happen after Gunther saved him from Seth Rollins.

The 38-year-old was recently interviewed on the Italian Wrestling Challenge, where he was asked about potentially stepping in the ring with Brock Lesnar.

To this, Gunther acknowledged Lesnar’s return but stated that his main focus at present was to beat Rhodes in Turin. However, he stated that once he was done with The American Nightmare, maybe Brock could challenge him.

I wasn’t even there on that day at Mania, because it was the day after me, when a lot of it happened with Brock, so I only saw it in a headline, and that’s literally all the info I had. Obviously, he’s back now, but I haven’t thought about it. I’m really focused on what I’m doing with Cody now. I will be challenging for the WWE Undisputed Championship in Italy, and that’s my full focus right now.

After I beat Cody, then Brock can challenge me, and we’ll do that. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]

A match between Gunther and Lesnar was teased for WrestleMania 41 last year, but due to the latter’s name featuring in Janel Grant’s lawsuit, Lesnar was pulled from the show by WWE.
