Cody Rhodes Thanks WWE Star For Kicking John Cena In The B*lls
This WWE star got to kick the legendary John Cena where the “Sun doesn’t shine” and received some gratitude from Cody Rhodes for it.
Cody Rhodes faced John Cena at WrestleMania 41 for the WWE Championship. Cena had recently turned heel and landed a low blow on Rhodes before going on to win the WWE Title for a record 17th time in his career.
The two met again at SummerSlam last year, where Rhodes won back the Title as Cena was on his way to retirement. He never got to give Cena a low blow as a receipt.
However, Liv Morgan, who was out of action for months due to injury, returned at Survivor Series: War Games when Cena was defending the Intercontinental Championship against her on-screen boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio. Dirty Dom pulled out all the stops to defeat Cena in a match where Judgement Day members Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez got involved before Liv Morgan came out to land a low blow on John Cena and helped Mysterio pick up the win and become the new champion.
Liv Morgan was recently on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast and during the interview, Rhodes took a moment to thank her for hitting John Cena with a low blow on his behalf.
You did something really nice for me, and I don’t know if you know you did this, but I was kicked – and this happens every year at WrestleMania, it’s not new – but I was kicked in the b*lls by John Cena, and I never got the receipt. I mean, I got to wrestle John, but you did get the receipt.
Morgan quips, saying, “I did it for you,” and laughs. Rhodes continues by thanking Morgan for it.
So thank you so much. Cheers to that! (19:25 onwards)
Cody Rhodes suffered an eye injury at WrestleMania 42
Rhodes was in an intense bout with Randy Orton at ‘Mania 42 and managed to win and retain his WWE Championship.
However, an enraged Orton hit Rhodes with the banned punt kick from the former’s Legend Killer days after the match.
Although this was the final blow, Orton has said in interviews that he has learned and practiced a safe way to execute the punt kick, wherein it looks good and doesn’t hurt the opponent. However, earlier in the match, Orton accidentally landed an actual punch on Rhodes, which hurt Rhodes’ left eye.
He was put in concussion protocol on the night, but appeared the next night on the Raw episode after WrestleMania 42 with a black eye. Rhodes’ condition has yet to be clearly declared, and if his recovery doesn’t happen soon enough, he may have to relinquish his WWE Championship to undergo treatment.
