Cody Rhodes Reveals “Insider Secret” Ahead Of WWE Royal Rumble 2026

Cody Rhodes is no longer the Undisputed WWE Champion, but he would love to get his hands back on the title!

On January 9th, 2026, Drew McIntyre dethroned The American Nightmare. Unfortunately, Rhodes will need to earn the right to challenge McIntyre for the championship.

The American Nightmare is entering the men’s match at Royal Rumble against 29 other superstars to try and earn an opportunity to challenge for the championship at WrestleMania 42.

Cody Rhodes spilled an insider secret ahead of WWE Royal Rumble

Ahead of the premium live event, Rhodes appeared on ESPN’s Get Up. He was asked about how he mentally prepares for a match, which, if he wins, he will tie Stone Cold Steve Austin’s record.

Cody Rhodes responded by revealing that he is going to ensure he looks the best by standing in the middle and taking out whoever enters the ring. However, he wants to avoid an earlier number.

We got 29 others, 29 of the very best in there. I’ll tell you, maybe a little insider secret to it all, in terms of if you just want to make sure you look your best, particularly on camera, always find yourself in the middle. Stay away from those ropes. And then whoever is coming in there that the crowd’s losing their mind for.

There was a famous legendary wrestler named Haku. He’d go and attack that guy because, you know, the cameras would be on you. So, hopefully, I get a good number going into this thing. You don’t want to get a number early on, and having had the experience of going the distance twice with it. I think, mentally, I’ve already got the edge on the rest of the field, and it is an incredible field.
