Cody Rhodes Is Proud Of Unique History With New WWE Signing

Cody Rhodes American Nightmare

Cody Rhodes has come a long way in his career and so has a new WWE signing.

At the WWE Royal Rumble in Indianapolis, Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship over his former friend Kevin Owens in a hellacious Ladder Match. It was a match that ended when Cody gave Owens an Alabama Slam onto a ladder bridge and Owens went through the ladder. That led to Cody retrieving the two versions of the WWE Title to remain as champion.

After the match was over, WWE claimed that Cody Rhodes had injuries that could jeopardize the future of his WWE Title reign. However, that report could be storyline-related to put over the physicality of the match.

The Royal Rumble PLE was also the debut of former TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, who is now an official WWE superstar.

After her TNA deal expired, WWE was quick to sign the powerhouse Grace, who appeared in NXT matches multiple times in 2024. She even challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Title as well.

Cody Rhodes And Jordynne Grace Reunited At The Royal Rumble

In a post on social media, Jordynne Grace posted a photo from 2018 at the All In PPV that Cody Rhodes ran with The Young Bucks, which was a few months before AEW launched. Grace was on the All In card in a battle royal. Grace remarked that she was forever grateful to Cody.

This guy booked + advocated for me to be on the first ever “All In” event in 2018, leading to me being offered a TNA contract days later. The rest is history. Forever grateful.

Cody responded with a comment saying he was proud of Grace for how far she’s come.

Most folks on the original “all in” will be asked everyday(and should ask themselves)…what’s next?

You’ve repeatedly answered the call and excelled!

I am very proud of you and can’t wait to see what you do next

As for what’s next, Cody Rhodes may have to wait until after the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE on March 1st to find out who he will face at WrestleMania 41. That’s because Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso wants to go after World Heavyweight Champion Gunther again although that match isn’t official yet.
