Cody Rhodes May Be Misleading Fans Ahead Of Major WWE Heel Turn
Cody Rhodes has admitted loving the challenge of being a babyface in WWE, but was he throwing fans off ahead of a surprising heel turn?
The American Nightmare has been the biggest babyface in WWE since returning nearly four years ago. Although he teased a heel turn on multiple occasions, it never happened.
The former Undisputed WWE Champion recently addressed the possibility of turning heel on his podcast, “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” He explained that although being a heel is more fun than being a babyface, he enjoyed the challenge of getting over as a hero in this day and age.
Ex-WWE Writer Thinks Cody Rhodes Must Turn Heel
On The Coach & Bro Show, former WWE head writer Vince Russo and his co-host, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman, discussed Cody Rhodes’ comments.
Russo pointed out that The American Nightmare’s character needs to turn villain right away. The veteran even suggested that the second-generation superstar might be throwing fans off before making a surprise turn.
I do agree with Cody Rhodes. I do agree with that. And I think you could still get a traditional hero over. No doubt about it. But I also believe Cody Rhodes is at the point that he needs to turn heel. And I think I would not be surprised if Cody is saying that to throw people off the scent because, man, you know, Coach, again, coming from a writing aspect, you just know it’s time to turn somebody.
You just kinda know we’ve done all we could do as a babyface. And I’ve said all along, Cody should’ve been a heel from day one. I don’t care what anybody says. Cody will be a great heel, Coach. Look at him. Look at the way he dresses. He’s a heel. He represents money. You see money. His dialogue. He talks above the head of those fans. The words that he uses. This guy is gonna be a better heel than he was a babyface. And I’ve been saying this for years. So, I’m gonna say he is saying that to throw people off the scent. [42:26 onwards]
