Cody Rhodes Drops Surprising Claim About Bad WWE Creative
Cody Rhodes has just spoken out about bad WWE creative.
Ever since Cody Rhodes returned to WWE, he has quickly ascended to become the face of the company. Since his return, he won two Royal Rumble matches and then went on to win the Undisputed WWE Championship three times.
This has also earned him the nickname QB1 of WWE. Over the years, Cody Rhodes has been a part of many storylines. While some have turned out to be huge hits, there are some that are best forgotten. Despite the ups and downs in his creative direction, the American Nightmare has managed to stay on top of WWE’s mountain. He has just revealed his secret mantra for surviving bad creative choices.
Cody Rhodes revealed how he deals with bad creative decisions
During a recent edition of his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Cody Rhodes said he has been in situations where the momentum is changing, and the creative team has to go with the momentum. But that doesn’t always mean that they will make the best decision.
“You know, here’s something that I’ve adopted at Backstage and the real cameras have, they’ve seen me say it enough that I feel like they now know what I mean. But we run in all these situations where it’s WrestleMania this year, for example, or the title change in Germany. And let’s pivot, let’s make some different moves and all this. And oh, there’s a lot of momentum behind Drew. Do people love Drew? And as they should. He’s awesome.”
Cody also said that since he doesn’t know whether a creative direction is good or bad for him, he simply tells people he will survive it.
“I always tell people because people will say I don’t know if that’s good for you or you know, and I don’t know if I mean it arrogantly. I think I just mean it from my own experience. But what I tell them is I can survive it.”
The American Nightmare further added that Michael Hayes and Paul Heyman have heard him use this phrase multiple times.
“That’s what I tell everyone. Michael Hayes has heard me say it a lot. Mr. Heyman’s heard me say it a lot, is I can survive it. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but I felt like as a babyface, it’s becoming a powerful trait.” [H/T Ringside News]
Cody Rhodes is currently in his third reign as Undisputed WWE Champion.
