The WWE Tag Team Championships recently changed hands on the blue brand after the unlikely duo of Damian Priest and R-Truth won the belts after defeating Solo Sikoa’s MFTs.

Following their win, the duo hadn’t defended the tag team championships till tonight, before R-Truth got themselves a major match for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Truth got into a backstage altercation with Kit Wilson and The Miz and challenged them for a match for the tag titles. It was made official for later tonight and Truth explained to Priest that he gave the shot to them as both of them were cursed by Danhausen recently.

The Very Nice Very Evil wrestler cursed The Miz and Kit a couple of weeks back and things haven’t been going in their favor. Danhausen met the duo before the match and asked them to take him with them and he’d uncurse them, but they refused.

Cody Rhodes makes a surprising statement on WWE SmackDown

The Miz and Kit began dominating the match against R-Truth and Danhausen made an appearance. He tried to help The Miz, but he refused. Danhausen was about to curse The Miz, but he got the referee in between himself and the curse.

Miz then hit a skull crushing finale on Truth and the referee went for the the pin but couldn’t get the third one in as his arm froze, possibly cause of the curse. Ultimately, Priest stepped in and hit a South of Heaven Chokeslam on The Miz to get the win as the referee counted with his left arm.

Following the match, Cody Rhodes made a surprise appearance after being attacked earlier in the night. He hit Kit Wilson with a CrossRhodes before addressing Randy Orton and Pat McAfee’s partnership.

Cody called out Pat McAfee and everyone who represents him, and said that they can kiss his behind. He then dared them to fire him before remininding how well it worked for them after he was fired the last time.
