CM Punk Believes Roman Reigns Does Things Differently Compared To Him

CM Punk and Roman Reigns have different approaches to wrestling, and the stage is now set for the  WrestleMania 42 main event.

2026 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns and World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk faced off in the ring this past Monday night on Raw for an intense exchange.

Roman Reigns came out to decide which of the two top WWE Champions he would face at WrestleMania. He was soon interrupted by World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, who cut a solid promo telling Reigns that he was the one who gave The Tribal Chief his career by bringing him into the SHIELD faction and that he had learnt from the best.

Punk also insulted Roman for taking time off from WWE, a time when he became a fighting champion and gave credibility to the World Title. Roman snapped back with a venomous promo of his own, calling Punk out for taking a 10-year vacation, saying he chose to face Punk (and not WWE Champion Drew McIntyre) at WrestleMania 42 because he hates him.

CM Punk Compares His Style To Reigns’ In Recent Interview

Speaking to Ross Tucker of DraftKings in a new interview,  Punk shared his thoughts and approach to wrestling as compared to Reigns. He said he likes to get down and dirty and blur the line between storyline and reality.

Roman likes to do cinema, I like to do pro wrestling. I like to get dirty, I like bloody and gnarly fights. I like punching people in the face. I’m the guy that sticks the toothpaste back in the tube. Where everybody thinks they know what’s going on behind the scenes, I’m the guy that blurs the line.

Punk is all set to get the best out of Reigns, hyping up the confirmed WrestleMania 42 main event further.

When I’m across from a guy like Roman Reigns, I’d like to think I bring the best out of him. When I’m in the ring either people, they know they’ve got to step up. When I have a microphone in my hand, they know they’ve got to come correct and match that energy.
