CM Punk Unlikely To Pull Off A Massive Move In WWE Anytime Soon
According to a wrestling veteran, CM Punk would not be pulling off a major move in the WWE as of now. The Second City Saint faced a huge setback recently.
CM Punk made his long-awaited return to the WWE back in 2023 after two years in AEW as well. In his second run until now, Punk has done some of the best work of his career, from his amazing feud with Drew McIntyre in 2024 to headlining WrestleMania two years in a row. At Mania 42, Punk defended his World Heavyweight title against Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 2.
The match has been regarded as one of the best main events in the history of WrestleMania, as both Roman and Punk gave it their all. At the end of a classic encounter, CM Punk lost his World title to The OTC. Following a major setback at Mania, many fans have been speculating whether Punk will turn heel now. The Best in the World has done some great heel work back in 2012-13 as well. Meanwhile, the wrestling veteran, Jim Cornette offered his thoughts on Punk’s potential heel turn.
CM Punk is unlikely to turn heel in the coming time
Speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette guaranteed that CM Punk is not turning heel despite some questionable things he did while feuding with Roman Reigns recently:
“CM Punk ain’t turning heel. I can guarantee. Now, he might do questionable things, which sometimes CM Punk might do to other babyfaces because he just f*cking fought one. I’m not saying that Punk is like, ‘I won’t turn heel, no matter what.’ I’m saying there’s no reason at this stage of his career, with the amount of people that like him and buy his merchandise, and with the connection he has to them, can verbalize, etc.
Cornette further stated that it’d be insane to turn Punk heel because he is a money machine:
He is a special guy. He can just do his own thing. I think they’d be insane if he just turned heel again and was like, ‘F*ck all of you people,’ because you would ruin that. He’s so good at it, he can piss them off. But there’s no need to. He’s a money machine.” [h/t Sportskeeda]
On the RAW after WrestleMania 42, Punk had a confrontation with the current WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. The two teased a potential feud for the near future as well.
