CM Punk Receives Apology After Forbidden Door

CM Punk

CM Punk was back in singles action for the first time since All Out 2022 when he took on Satoshi Kojima in the first round of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at Forbidden Door.

Punk has proved a controversial figure throughout his career and so it proved again when he became embroiled in a backstage fight with The Elite after blasting several of his colleagues at a media scrum. The former AEW World Champion admitted ahead of his return to the company that he had apologized to Tony Khan for his performance at the scrum but it seems fences still need to be mended between himself and The Elite.

At Forbidden Door, Punk faced Kojima and was met with resounding boos from the Toronto crowd just days after he received nothing but love from his hometown of Chicago. The Japanese legend’s strong style offense helped get the crowd behind him as he took the fight to Punk but in the end, a GTS was enough for Punk to pick up the win.

During the match, Satoshi Kojima delivered a diving elbow rope to Punk from the top rope. The elbow drop may have gone a little wayward however as Kojima landed on what Taz might call “yam bag Jones.” Taking to social media Kojima was a bit more direct about where he landed as he offered an apology to his opponent:

“My elbow drop hit his cock. sorry. But it’s not on purpose. Accident. Because I don’t have that kind of technology.”

CM Punk will hope to have recovered from his trauma before he faces either Roderick Strong or Samoa Joe in the semi-finals of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
