CM Punk & Chris Jericho Meet As AEW Return Grows Closer

Chris Jericho CM Punk

With CM Punk apparently on the verge of a return to AEW, a new report has revealed that the former AEW World Champion has met with Chris Jericho in a move to get past their issues.

CM Punk has not been seen in AEW since All Out in 2022 where he captured the AEW World Title, publicly blasted several colleagues at a press conference, and then got in a fight with The Elite backstage in what could be described as a mixed night in his career.

However, it seems that Punk is on his way back to the company and could be the crown jewel in the company’s impending Saturday night show.

Fightful Select has now reported that Punk and Jericho have met over the past week in what was described as a “relatively uneventful” encounter considering the apparent bad blood that exists between the two men.

It was noted that when CM Punk first joined AEW, Chris Jericho approached him to smooth over their past and Punk accepted that as long as there was no further need for a fallout down the line. Jericho is noted to have shouted at Punk following the backstage fight at All Out while Punk called Jericho a “stooge” and a “liar” in a recent social media outburst.

It is not mentioned if this was the planned meeting that was also reported to involve Tony Khan and AEW Tag Team Champions FTR. Given the timing of the report, it is likely that the meeting happened before Punk turned up backstage at WWE Raw but that has not been confirmed.
