CM Punk Addresses If He Thinks About WWE Retirement
CM Punk is nowhere close to retiring, but that’s what people thought about AJ Styles as well.
It so happens that The Phenomenal One had dropped the news of his retirement in 2026 during John Cena’s Farewell Tour in 2025. Fans believed there was still time.
However, at Royal Rumble on January 31st, 2026, Styles supposedly had his final WWE match against Gunther. Now, it is strongly believed that Styles has completely retired from wrestling, and not just WWE.
CM Punk on his retirement
While speaking to TJ Henderson and O’Shay Jackson Jr on No Contest, The Best in the World revealed that he does not talk about his retirement because he knows it’s not going to be anytime soon. He is having the run of his life with his best work, so it doesn’t make sense to quit now.
I really don’t know. It’s big in Japanese wrestling, the retirement tour. They’ve done that over there for many, many years. It was just new to Western wrestling fans. Cena did it, and I thought it was brilliant. Saying, ‘This is the last time you’re going to get to come see me. You get to see me wrestle or appear.’ With me, I really don’t know. I almost don’t like talking about it because I don’t think it’s going to be anytime soon. The way our business is, I like to keep some things shrouded in secrecy and mystery. We’ll have to wait and see. I’m trying to keep myself in one piece because I think I’m on the run of my life and doing the best work I’ve ever done. Why would I want to step away now?
