Christian Cage Set To Defend TNT Championship in Thrilling Showdown On AEW Collision

Christian Cage is gearing up to face a dragon on AEW Collision.

As seen on the “Title Tuesday” special episode, Bryan Danielson earned the right to be the new number one contender for the TNT Championship following a victory over Swerve Strickland in the opening match of the show.

The match opened the show strong with Strickland attempting high-impact moves and Danielson finding counters to most of the attempts. The closing moments of the match would see Strickland hit the Swerve Stomp but Danielson somehow survived. Prince Nana would jump on the apron to distract the referee as Strickland grabbed the crown, but Adam Page would run to ringside to snatch the crown back. Danielson hit the Busaiku Knee to win the match.

Although Strickland lost the match, this was a performance that elevated the former tag team champion in defeat.

If The American Dragon is victorious on Collision, this will be his first championship reign in All Elite Wrestling despite being with the promotion for over 2 years. At the time of writing, the TNT Championship match is the only announced bout for Collision.

Christian Cage Attacked After The Main Event Of AEW Dynamite

The final match of Title Tuesday saw Adam Copeland make his in-ring debut against Luchasarus. Despite Nick Wayne and Cage trying to interfere in the match, Copeland was successful in his debut. After the bell, Cage and his associates continued to take the fight to Copeland.

The beatdown brought down the Blackpool Combat Club to even out the numbers, with Danielson targeting Cage. The closing shot of the show saw the TNT Champion violently tapping out to the LeBell Lock.
