Charlotte Flair Names WWE Record She Wants To Break

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair has her eyes on a championship record in WWE and it’s probably not a surprise what one she is going after.

When it comes to winning championships, Charlotte Flair is far and away ahead of any other woman in the history of WWE. There are five women in WWE history that have won more than six singles championships on the WWE main roster.

Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Mickie James have six each while Trish Status held the record for a long time with seven Women’s Championship reigns in WWE. That was until Charlotte Flair not only passed her, now she’s doubling Trish with 14 reigns as Women’s Champion. Charlotte is a former Divas Champion, a six-time Raw Women’s Champion and a seven-time Smackdown Women’s Champion. That number of 14 title wins in WWE doesn’t even count the two NXT Women’s Titles that Charlotte won as well.

On the final Smackdown of 2022 after nearly eight months away, Charlotte made her unadvertised return to challenge and beat Ronda Rousey quickly to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion.

As far as the men go, Charlotte’s father Ric Flair has 16 World Title reigns in his career with two of those coming in WWE and the rest in NWA/WCW. If you ask Ric, he has 21, but 16 is the recognized number. John Cena also has 16 WWE/World Title reigns in his legendary career and he’s obviously a part-timer now, so he may never get another one.

During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump this week, Charlotte Flair spoke about how she would love to pass that number of 16 World/Women’s Title reigns that is held by her father Ric and Cena.

“Before I went away for eight months, I always said that I don’t really think about the number and I never really cared about surpassing the number, but here I am now as a 14-time Women’s Champion, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I wanna pass it.’”

“I don’t know when, I don’t know how, I mean, I know how I’m going to do it, but I think I definitely want to surpass the number now.”

As for Ric Flair, he is praising his daughter Charlotte as usual by saying that he has never seen her happier than she is right now.
