Chad Gable believes that the Men’s Fatal 4-Way tag team match at WrestleMania 39 went so well that WWE could make it an annual tradition.

There were 13 matches going into the two-night WrestleMania 39 event this year. There ended up being 15 matches overall thanks to two short “matches” that The Miz ended up losing.

One of the matches that didn’t get a lot of build was the Men’s Fatal 4-Way Tag Team match. The men wrestled on Saturday while the women also had a 4-Way tag team match on Sunday.

In the men’s match, the four teams were The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar), Braun Strowman & Ricochet and Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable & Otis.

The four teams went on to have a very exciting, fast-paced match with big moves by several of the people in the match. Chad Gable really stood out with a rolling German Suplex spot on Braun Strowman while Dawkins also ran over Strowman with a huge Pounce on the floor as well. The Street Profits ended up getting the win in a match that only went 8:45 in length, but it certainly impressed a lot of people.

During an appearance on the Out of Character podcast, Chad Gable spoke about how the match gave the wrestlers a chip on their shoulders to prove how talented they are.

“I think when that match got announced (men’s tag showcase at WrestleMania), a lot of people thought, oh, they’re just throwing this on the card to get a bunch of guys a match, you know, whatever, fair enough. But, we didn’t look at it that way. I think all of us treated it like, this is our chance, chip on our shoulder.”

As he continued, Chad Gable said he wouldn’t be surprised if this kind of match became an annual tradition at WrestleMania.

“We got a chance to prove something here that not only did we deserve to be on this show from the beginning but if they’re gonna do it and call it a showcase thing, that’s exactly what we’re gonna give ‘em.”

“Don’t be surprised if going forward, this becomes a tradition where they do this showcase thing because we showed them what we can do when they give us an opportunity like that.”
