Bryan Danielson Praises Recent AEW Opponent

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson is seen as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time and now he has offered words of praise for a recent opponent.

Currently locked in a feud with AEW World Champion MJF, Danielson faced Konosuke Takeshita in a bruising match on AEW Dynamite.

Faced by MJF with the task of being victorious each week to earn a title shot at Revolution, Danielson went about the contest exchanging strikes with Takeshita before gaining the win via submission.

After the match, the victorious Bryan Danielson lifted the hand of Takeshita as a gesture of respect for an opponent he had been looking forward to working with.

Danielson was questioned by AEW’s Japanese Twitter account about his thoughts on the 27 year old, where he admitted he “was really looking forward to it” and had asked colleagues what Takeshita was like to work with.

“I felt this guy is special and I have been in the ring with some of the best wrestlers in the world, some of the best wrestlers of all time, and I think, by the end, we’re going to be talking about Takeshita the same way.”

Taking place in Los Angeles, the Dynamite crowd included Hollywood actors Freddy Prinze Jr and Ken Jeong. MJF cut a promo on the film stars but soon ran off once Danielson interrupted and entered the ring.

Takeshita has competed with several of the locker room leaders since signing with AEW last November, including Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.
