Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes are two of the top guys in WWE NXT with the brand’s announcer Booker T praising them heavily in a recent interview.

When the NXT brand underwent some changes in the fall of 2021 by becoming NXT 2.0, it was pretty clear right away that Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes would be two guys that the brand was going to be built around.

Fast forward to today and the first ever Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes match is set to take place this Saturday, April 1st at Stand & Deliver in Los Angeles with Bron’s NXT Title on the line.

Since January 2022, 25-year-old Bron Breakker, has held the NXT Title for over 400 days during his two title runs. His current reign is over 350 days, which is the second-longest in NXT history, trailing only Adam Cole’s 403-day title reign.

While Breakker has dominated the NXT Title scene, 28-year-0ld Carmelo Hayes had two lengthy reigns as the NXT North American Champion totaling over 270 days.

The NXT brand, which is booked by two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, has purposely kept Bron and Melo apart for the past 18 months because they wanted to wait for Stand & Deliver 2023, which is considered the biggest NXT show of the year since it takes place during WrestleMania weekend.

Another two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T, is the commentator on NXT and he recently spoke about the greatness of Bron & Melo in an interview with The Ringer.

“Bron Breakker’s actually out there doing it. But those guys, they have a chance. They have an opportunity to go out and deliver. Absolutely deliver in the biggest way. I mean, they’re going to have the crowd. They’re going to have the people there pushing for them. They’re going to have everybody in the back pulling for them to go out there and really shine like new money.”

“I’m talking about put the rocket on them and send it straight to the moon. Those two guys, Carmelo and Bron Breakker, they are the pillars here in NXT. And to see those two mix it up one-on-one for the first time, it’s going to be awesome, man. So I hope they’re ready. Like I say, preparation is the only luck they’re ever going to have. … When you have a moment, it could be there; in the next moment, it could be gone just like that. So take advantage of it.”

As for the future of both men, whether it’s in NXT or the WWE main roster, they both have the potential to be major WWE superstars in their careers.
