Brock Lesnar May Compete In One More WWE Match For $10 Million
Brock Lesnar apparently retired at WrestleMania 42 following his loss to Oba Femi in a singles match.
Post-match, Lesnar removed his gloves and boots and left them in the ring before sharing an emotional hug with his longtime manager, Paul Heyman, signaling his retirement.
WWE has not released an official retirement statement confirming Lesnar’s status. But he was recently moved from the “Now” portion of the WWE intro to the “Forever” section after Paul Heyman called out the company’s production team on Monday Night Raw last week.
The wrestling world was under the impression that Brock Lesnar was going to retire at SummerSlam this year in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. That is why his apparent WrestleMania retirement came as a shock to many.
WrestleMania 42 might have been Lesnar’s last-ever match. However, WWE veteran Stevie Richards believes that The Beast Incarnate could return for one more bout.
Brock Lesnar Could Return To Face Gunther
Speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, Richards stated that Brock Lesnar may come back for a final match against The Carrer Killer Gunther, potentially earning a $10 million payoff.
Gunther, if they really want to continue what they’ve been doing with him, and kind of took a detour at WrestleMania with Seth Rollins, but his gimmick is retiring people or getting people who are about to retire.
And he’s the one who’ll be able to bring Brock back if there is a way to bring Brock back. And Brock may come back for one more match against Gunther, which is going to be in a $10 million payoff.
The Lesnar vs Gunther has been discussed internally within WWE for over three years. The match was first teased during the 2023 Royal Rumble, where the two had a brief but high-impact stare-down.
According to sources, the match was internally planned for WrestleMania 40. However, those plans were scrapped due to Lesnar’s temporary absence from WWE television amid external legal controversies.
Many expected the clash to take place at WrestleMania 42, but Brock Lesnar instead faced Oba Femi in what appeared to be his retirement match. However, fans are still hopeful that the Gunther vs. Lesnar match could happen at SummerSlam 2026, potentially serving as Lesnar’s true final match.
