Britt Baker Match Postponed On AEW Dynamite

A match featuring Britt Baker didn’t happen on AEW Dynamite as advertised.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. is one of the top women in All Elite Wrestling that’s a former AEW Women’s Champion. She spent several as one of the top heel women in the company before becoming a babyface several months ago.

Ever since Saraya joined AEW in late 2022, she has been at odds with Britt Baker. Saraya is part of a women’s group known as The Coutasts with Ruby Soho and AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm. Meanwhile, Baker remains closely aligned with Jamie Hayter, who is a former AEW Women’s Champion as well.

On the June 28 edition of AEW Dynamite in Hamilton, Ontario, Baker was going to face Saraya in a Quarterfinal match of the AEW Women’s Owen Hart Cup. Instead, the match didn’t happen because Baker was sick. AEW’s Owner/President/GM Tony Khan announced that the match was postponed after Dynamite had begun.

Ruby Soho will be in action tonight, + the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Quarterfinal Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho will take place next week.

Britt Baker isn’t the only big name AEW wrestler to miss a match due to sickness this week because her boyfriend Adam Cole missed the Forbidden Door PPV last Sunday due to being sick. Cole did appear on Dynamite.

Instead of facing Baker, Ruby Soho easily beat Alexia Nicole on AEW Dynamite. Soho won with the Lockjaw submission that Baker uses and also delivered

The first three women to advance to the semifinals of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup are Athena, Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue. The winner of next week’s Baker-Soho match will face Skye Blue in the semifinals of the tournament.
