A top WWE championship will be defended at Clash in Italy, according to Nick Aldis’ announcement at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Sol Ruca has been feuding with the Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch for a few weeks on Monday Night RAW. On the last episode of the red brand, the former NXT Women’s North American Champion challenged The Man to a match.

Although Lynch accepted the challenge, she refused to face Ruce on RAW. Instead, the two went head-to-head tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a non-title match.

Becky Lynch Destroys Sol Ruca At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

As Sol Ruca attempted to hit Becky Lynch with the Sol Snatcher tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event, The Man pulled referee Jessika Carr into harm’s way. Ruca accidentally struck Carr, forcing the official to call a disqualification. Although Lynch initially believed she would be declared the winner, she was surprised when Ruca’s name was announced instead.

As the former NXT Women’s North American Champion checked on Carr after the match, she was brutally attacked by Lynch. Later in the show, The Man encountered SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis backstage. Aldis informed Lynch that his RAW counterpart, Adam Pearce, had decided that she would defend her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Ruca at Clash in Italy.
