Breaking: Dead Star Comes Back To Life On WWE SmackDown

WWE had an incredible night planned for tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown as it served as the go-home episode for Backlash 2026, which is set to be hosted tomorrow night.

The show featured some exciting matches, including Tiffany Stratton’s defense of the Women’s United States Championship against Kiana James and Fatal Influence’s in-ring SmackDown debut as a trio.

Throughout the show, many WWE superstars paid respects to the Gingerbread Man, who was demolished by Sami Zayn last week, and Trick Williams hosted his funeral tonight.

Sami Zayn interrupts WWE SmackDown main event

The main event saw the United States Champion arrange a full-fledged funeral for his friend and even hired a choir to sing along with him in memory of the Gingerbread Man. He even asked the crowd to observe a two-minute silence for it.

However, Sami Zayn interrupted just then as he tried to talk some sense into everyone. Zayn berated Williams for his actions and claimed that he would dethrone him as the United States Champion at Backlash before laying him out with a right-hand punch.

As he mocked Williams, the unthinkable happened on the show as the Gingerbread Man came back to life. It arose from its coffin inside the ring and attacked Zayn with a candy cane Kendo Stick. Lil Yachty was revealed to be the man in the costume as Trick Williams took Zayn out with the Trick Shot and celebrated with the rapper as the show went off air.
