WWE Personality Blasts Wrestling Fans Voting Booker T As Worst Announcer

A WWE personality thinks it’s “insane” that a group of wrestling fans voted Booker T as the worst announcer in the business.

Booker T is a 2-time WWE Hall of Famer who remains a big part of the wrestling business. Since retiring as a wrestler, Booker has stayed busy running a wrestling school and his own promotion, Reality of Wrestling, and has spent a lot of time as an announcer.

After spending several years on the WWE main roster in the late 2010s, Booker T has been an NXT announcer since October 2022, alongside play-by-play man Vic Joseph.

On commentary, Booker is known for his enthusiasm for things like Stephanie Vaquer’s Devil’s Kiss move with her knees; he’s also added to Trick Williams’ “Whoop That Trick” theme song and various other things over the years.

There are also some wrestling fans who don’t like Booker as an announcer. For the third year in a row, Booker was voted the Worst Television Announcer in Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards, which are voted on by subscribers of the newsletter.

The voting for Worst Television Announcer went like this, with Booker winning with 516 votes compared to 123 for second place.

Booker T As Worst Announcer Is Something Sam Roberts Disagrees With

Sam Roberts is a WWE announcer/host who is also a radio show host. Writing on X, Roberts noted it was “insane” to call Booker the worst announcer since he adds a lot to NXT programming.

This is insane. Book is pure emotion. Feelings. Vibes. There’s a list of NXT stars who came to the main roster with crowd response that had been guided by Booker T’s NXT commentary. Wrestling = Feelings. That’s Booker T.

It’s worth noting that the Wrestling Observer Awards heavily favor AEW, and many people seem to dislike WWE since it was voted as the Worst Promotion. That may surprise some people since WWE is by far the biggest wrestling company in the world, and had a huge year in terms of business.
