Booker T is convinced that Theory could be the one to dethrone the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Money in the Bank was a mixed night for Theory. After he lost the WWE United States Championship to Bobby Lashley, the young star was added to the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match and grabbed the opportunity with both hands, climbing the ladder to capture the briefcase.
Theory is now able to cash in a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship any time and anywhere in the next year. On the latest episode of Raw, he revealed that he has already chosen his spot, warning both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns that he is coming for the title after the two battle it out over the gold in a Last Man Standing match at SummerSlam.
One man who believes Theory is the man to end the dominance of Roman Reigns is WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
On the latest edition of his Hall Of Fame podcast, the six-time World Champion discussed the current Mr Money In The Bank’s chances of winning the title, saying it’s a matter of him being booked in the right way.
“It’s not losing, but it’s how you lose. He could beat Roman, he could beat anybody on the card if the situation is right. If a person is unconscious when I cash in, who loses? If you book it properly, Theory is not going to be one of the guys that [sic] got the briefcase and didn’t cash it in and win it. I don’t see that happening. This kid has got way too much upside for something like that to happen. That’s just me and what I would be thinking if I had Theory in this position.”
Roman Reigns hasn’t lost a one-on-one singles match in over two years. He’s set to defend his Undisputed Championship against the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam later this month. Theory already said on RAW that he’s planning on cashing in at the show. Whether or not he can successfully do so remains to be seen.
