Booker T Slams Recently Released WWE Star For Backstage Attitude
Booker T had some harsh words for a recently released WWE superstar.
BJ Ray wasn’t a regular on WWE television, but he was part of both seasons of the WWE LFG show on A&E, which featured young prospects hoping to make it in NXT.
After the conclusion of season two of WWE LFG, Ray was among the recent WWE releases. Ray also suffered a torn rotator cuff and labrum injury that hurt his chances on the show.
During his appearances on LFG, Ray was one of the more obnoxious personalities who clashed with the coaches, especially WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley.
Booker T was a coach on both seasons of WWE LFG, so he got to know Ray pretty well. On his Hall of Fame podcast, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke about Ray’s potential.
“I always thought that kid had something. But in this business, you’ve gotta be able to apply yourself. It’s not gonna be like football, basketball, or any other structured sport. It’s not gonna be like that.”
Booker Thinks BJ Ray Was Lacking In What’s Important In WWE
As he continued, Booker T remarked on positive attributes about BJ Ray while also mentioning that he was lacking in other ways, which could be a hint at Ray not acting in a professional way due to his big ego.
“A guy like BJ Ray, he had the looks, he had the swag, the charisma, but everything else, he definitely was lacking in.”
“The same way BJ Ray was on television, he was that way off television. You can’t be that way.”
After his WWE release, BJ Ray tweeted AEW owner Tony Khan, saying he was ready to sign with them and referred to himself as “The Ratings Machine.”
