“He Never Said It” – Booker T On Malakai Black-AEW Situation

As the situation surrounding Malakai Black and AEW unfolds, Booker T has given his two cents, questioning why Malakai didn’t just lay down the facts.

As of this writing, it remains unknown if Malakai Black is still signed to All Elite Wrestling. Fightful Select reported that he’d been granted a conditional release, which followed initial reports from Wrestling Inc.’s Raj Giri that stated Black had requested to be let go. However, an Instagram live from Black refuted such reports.

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has now become the latest wrestling personality to jump on the story. Taking to his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker questioned where Malakai currently stands, seeing as he’s never once said himself if he’s a free agent or not:

“If Malakai was released or he got his release, why wouldn’t he come out and say it himself? He never said it. He never said it once, and we never reported on him leaving or anything like that because there again, I don’t know what’s real here on the Internet.

My thing is this: It would have been very, very simple for him to say, ‘Hey, I got my release from AEW. I’m going to be taking some time off, and hopefully, I’ll see you guys later on.’

None of that was ever said, and for me, we knew when Cody [Rhodes] was gone. We knew exactly when the timeline was up, and for something like this, for me, it just seems like it was made up to create a story about another potential WWE guy wanting out.”

Malakai Black last wrestled for AEW at All Out, teaming with Brody King and Buddy Matthews in a loss to Darby Allin, Sting, and Miro. He bowed and blew a kiss to the audience as he walked back up the ramp, causing intense speculation that he was done, at least temporarily, with the company.
