Blake Monroe Teases Going After Major WWE Championship
Blake Monroe has her eyes on championship gold in WWE.
When Blake Monroe made the jump to WWE in June 2025 after a successful two-year run in AEW as Mariah May, she came in with a lot of fanfare and potential.
Since joining the NXT brand, Monroe has mostly been in a heel role and has won quite a few matches. Monroe also briefly held the NXT Women’s North American Title, but after losing it unexpectedly, she has not pursued it again.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Blake Monroe spoke about her journey in pro wrestling and what it means to be The Glamour.
“I think I have a certain storytelling ability that comes from experience. I also think there are things those women have that I don’t. I’m not a gold medalist. I can’t do 23 back flips before I hit the floor, nor do I need to. I’ll just punch you in the face. But everybody has something.”
“The Glamour is kind of a name I came up with when I started on the independent scene way back when, and that character has evolved through different countries, different promotions, different experiences. But, the biggest thing I learned with wrestling is to go with the flow. Whatever you’re given, just give it everything.”
Blake Monroe Wants To Be NXT Women’s Champion
When discussing her future goals in WWE and specifically in NXT, Blake Monroe spoke about the NXT Women’s North American Championship, but also made it clear she wants to be NXT Women’s Champion too.
“I got to get past Jaida Parker and then assess the scene of NXT. I’m looking at the North American Championship and Izzy and Tatum and what’s going to happen there, because that is my title. I’m also looking at Jacy, Sol and Zaria.
That’s a whole lovers turn to enemies thing and Jacy (the NXT Women’s Champion) is somewhere in the mix, and if she makes it out alive, maybe that’s where I’m going. But for me, I’m laser focused on Stand and Deliver.”
As mentioned above, Blake Monroe will face Jaida Parker in a Street Fight at NXT Vengeance Day on March 7th. Whoever wins that certainly could be in line for a title shot.
The next NXT PLE is Vengeance Day on Saturday, March 7th. Here’s the lineup:

* Women’s NXT North American Championship: Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley
