TJR: WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2026 Preview
It’s WWE NXT Deadline with Joe Hendry facing Ricky Saints, Blake Monroe taking on Jaida Parker, Izzi Dame against Tatum Paxley, and more.
The WWE NXT Vengeance Day PLE is normally a February show that takes place around Valentine’s Day, but this year they pushed it back until early March. That means it is three months after Deadline in December. I’m not sure why WWE made that decision, but the NXT roster has lost a lot of top talent to the main roster in recent months, like Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Jordynne Grace, Lash Legend, and others. That’s probably why they delayed this show.
I think the NXT brand is still fun to follow and watch, but the quality of the show has dipped to start the year. When it comes to this card, there are five matches, and all of them are singles matches. I think you need more variety. Give us a triple threat or 4-way or even a tag. There just isn’t a lot of variety. The NXT Women’s Title isn’t on the card, but I assume they’ll announce that at Stand & Deliver next month, they will do Jacy Jayne vs. Sol Ruca vs. Zaria, so it’s being saved for that bigger show in St. Louis.
It’s also a rare NXT PLE taking place at the WWE PC in Orlando, which is where NXT tapes every week. I like it when they get away, so it’s a bit disappointing that it’s at their usual home. On the plus side, the women’s division is being featured heavily with three of the five matches, so it’s good to see the ladies being used right in NXT as usual.
You can watch NXT Vengeance Day on Saturday, March 7, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix for many of us internationally, including me in Canada. These NXT PLE shows usually go 2.5 hours or sometimes up to 3 hours, but this one might be around 2 hours. I’m not going to be home on Saturday to review it live, but I will do it when I get home later that night or early Sunday morning. I believe we’ll have coverage from the TJRWrestling news team on Saturday night.

Underground Match: Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan
They have been feuding for a while, with Kelani Jordan moving on to her heel role after being a babyface for a few years. I think Jordan has done okay as a heel, but I think long-term she’s better as a babyface. As for Vice, she’s very likable and a legit tough woman, 3-0 in Underground Matches.
Vice is going into this match with a storyline right hand injury to try to make it seem like she might not have the advantage, but I fully expect Lola to get the win here.
Winner: Lola Vice

Tony D’Angelo vs. Dion Lennox
Ever since Tony D came back to NXT after taking a long break last year, he has made a point to take down Dion Lennox’s Darkstate group. Tony D has said he has two goals and Darkstate is the first part of it. Tony hasn’t said that the NXT Title is his other goal, but the man has been in NXT for four years and has yet to win that title, so it makes sense that it would be his other major goal.
I think Tony D winning the NXT Title this year is very likely unless he gets called up to the main roster, so I think Tony should win here. Lennox has done well as a heel leader of Darkstate and his matches are solid. I think having him win the NXT North American Title at some point this year is a possibility, but I’m not sure about the AEW World Title. I’ll go with Tony winning decisively in this match.
Winner: Tony D’Angelo

Street Fight: Jaida Parker vs. Blake Monroe
I like both women a lot. They have really built up this feud well because of their strong promos. Blake is that cocky heel who can back it up in the ring, while Parker has grown a lot as a character, with a unique style and confidence that make her very likable. It’s not a contender’s match for a title, but I feel like both women should be holding the NXT Women’s Title this year at some point. I think for Parker, the chase for her as a babyface going for the NXT Women’s Title would be a great story just because of how far she has come in NXT.
As for this match, I feel like a lot of babyfaces are going to win matches at Vengeance Day, so I’m leaning towards a Blake Monroe win. Since it’s a Street Fight, we could see something like Monroe getting an ally or two to help her win the match, and since there aren’t disqualifications, it would be a cheap win. Either that or something controversial happens, and Blake finds a way to get the win. That’s just my hunch, anyway. I don’t think either woman will be hurt by a loss, and there may be another match for them in the future.
Winner: Blake Monroe

Women’s NXT North American Championship: Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley
This one feels like a feud ender. I think the rivalry has been okay, but certainly not great. Tatum Paxley had a brief run with the NXT Women’s Title until Izzi Dame turned on her. The feud has continued since then, with Dame winning the Women’s NXT North American Title. I think the match quality should be pretty good because they’ve worked together a few times and the chemistry is there.
When it comes to picking a winner, it certainly feels like a scenario where Paxley could take the title from Dame to end this story on a happy note. If not, where else does it go? Paxley has been the loner type, having lost all her friends, and I’m not sure what kind of future she has. I think it’s important for Paxley to become a champion again by winning this match.
Winner AND NEW NXT Women’s North American Champion: Tatum Paxley

NXT Championship: Joe Hendry vs. Ricky Saints
Joe Hendry won the title last month in the 7-man Ladder Match for the vacant NXT Title, so I would be surprised to see him lose the title. Ricky has charisma, but I think he has been better in NXT as a babyface compared to his heel run, which isn’t as interesting. Hendry has been fine as the NXT Champion, who is easy to like with his catchphrases, smiling, and his ability to look credible in the ring. I’d like to see more depth to him as a character in the months ahead, but for now, the people still love him, so just keep it going. I think Hendry should win clean here.
I think moving forward, the NXT Title scene is going to involve Ethan Page and probably Tony D’Angelo. Perhaps the NXT Title match at Stand & Deliver will be a 3-way or 4-way with Ricky Saints involved in the match too. Since I expect the women to have a 3-way then maybe it’s a 4-way for the guys. They could also just do Hendry against Page, while Saints could feud with D’Angelo as somebody for Tony D to beat on his way to the title.
Winner: Joe Hendry

BONUS TOPICS FOR WWE NXT VENGEANCE DAY
The Match I’m Looking Forward To The Most
There’s nothing that really stands out, but I may go with the Blake Monroe-Jaida Parker Street Fight just because it’s different with a stipulation.
The Match I Care About The Least
Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan.
Longest Match
Joe Hendry vs. Ricky Saints for about 17 minutes. I think everything will be under 20 minutes.
Shortest Match
Izzi Dame vs. Izzi Dame for about 11 minutes.
Excitement Level on a Scale of 1-10 (1 being low, 10 being high)
It’s a 7 out of 10. It should be a solid show where everybody works hard and maybe a title change with Paxley beating Dame, but other than that, I have a hard time getting too excited. I think Stand & Deliver should be a bigger and better card next month.
I’ll be back with a review of the WWE NXT Vengeance Day on TJRWrestling.net on Saturday. It won’t be live because I’m going to be out when the show starts, but I’ll get it done later in the evening. You can also tweet me on X/Twitter at @johnreport as well.
