Big E Taking On New Role During WWE Absence
Whilst away from WWE screens, Big E will be performing a very different task in another sport very soon.
Big E suffered a broken neck during a match on the 11th March 2022 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Whilst the recovery from such a serious injury has naturally taken a substantial amount of time, Big E was in positive mood after his one-year scan, although still described the break as complicated.
However, with a return to the squared circle, the former World Champion has looked to the sport of American football to provide a colourful insight.
It has been revealed that Big E will be the emcee for the Michigan Panthers in the USFL, starting with their first home game against the New Jersey Generals at the end of the month.
Big E commented on the announcement, explaining how excited he is to be a part of the action.
I am excited to join forces with the USFL and the Panthers as the team returns to Michigan. Detroit has some of the best fans in the world and I look forward to connecting with them at Ford Field.
Nancy McDonald, Vice President of Marketing for the USFL, also commented on his appointment.
Big E has built his WWE reputation on his outstanding talent and his fabulous personality. Big E will be on screen frequently, where his positive, engaging and outgoing charisma will shine through for fans in the stands and at home. We couldn’t think of a better emcee for the Panthers’ exciting return to Detroit.
The role will certainly be fully engaging, helping to hype the crowd before the game, providing interviews and calling celebrations – something wrestling fans will know he is capable of doing.
