Big E Shares Disappointing Injury Update

Big E

Big E remains out of action.

On the December 2nd edition of Raw, Big E returned to WWE television. But what should have been a night of celebration turned out to be a nightmare.

During a highly emotional segment, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turned their backs on their friend, claiming he’d abandoned them when he got injured.

Woods told him to stop lying to himself and his fans, and just admit he’d never be cleared to return. Despite the hostility, Big E tried to embrace the duo, but they were having none of it, leaving him to head backstage alone.

Big E has been out of action since March 11th, 2022. During a tag team match on SmackDown, the star landed high up on his neck while taking a Belly-to-Belly Suplex outside the ring from Ridge Holland. Although he avoided surgery, he hasn’t wrestled since.

Big E Still Isn’t Cleared To Wrestle

Despite hopes from fans that the appearance on Raw is merely a starting point for an in-ring comeback, the man himself has urged caution. During an appearance on The Mike Broomhead Show, the star revealed he still isn’t cleared.

“I broke my neck, two and a half years ago, in three places, including my C1 in two places. I still haven’t been cleared. Thankfully, I feel great and don’t have any issues, nothing like that. Didn’t need surgery. I was in a hard collar for three months. There are very real risks. We had a suplex that went wrong and I’ve been out since. I’m grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that,”

Speaking after The New Day exploded, Matt Hardy said he expects Big E to get cleared and eventually return to the ring. The former WWE star surmised that the storyline wouldn’t have played out the way that it did if the former World Champion isn’t eventually able to come back and get revenge.
