Big E Calls NXT Star Future World Champion

Big E has high hopes for Carmelo Hayes.

Currently at the top of the roster and the top of his game on Tuesday nights, Hayes has reigned with the NXT Championship ever since defeating Bron Breakker in the main event of Stand & Deliver back in April.

Hayes was also able to continue the reign as champion following NXT Heatwave on August 22nd, where Melo was able to defend the title against Wes Lee in the main event of the television special.

Taking part in a photo shoot with former NXT Champion Big E, the man famous for the “five count” quoted a video of the photographs being taken on social media and declared that Melo is main roster money:

Being the second-ever Superstar to hold the championship, The New Day member knows that the title can be a stepping stone for great things. Following his main roster call-up, the former NXT Champion went on to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and cash it in successfully to become the new WWE Champion.

Will Big E Wrestle Again?

Following an accident during a match on SmackDown, the former WWE Champion suffered a broken neck after a bad landing at the ringside area in March 2022. Many fans would love to see the former Intercontinental Champion make a return to the ring, but want his health prioritised more than anything.

In an unfortunate update over SummerSlam weekend, the former NXT Champion revealed in a press conference that he has been advised by doctors to never wrestle again for fear that he could risk paralysis if another bad landing were to take place.

Still with the company despite not being able to wrestle, The New Day member has been a part of the scouting process for new talent and offers advice to those in developmental.
