Bianca Belair has revealed what it was like for her to compete in her first WWE Ladder Match recently including a moment where she thought she lost her title.

As the WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair has been a dominant champion since winning the title from Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38. Ten months later, she is still holding that Raw Women’s Title and will likely be defending it at WrestleMania 39 on April 1st or 2nd.

Belair had a lengthy feud with Bayley in the second half of 2022 that saw them have multiple championship matches, some of which had stipulations as well.

At Extreme Rules last October, Belair put the Raw Women’s Title on the line against Bayley in a Ladder Match. Belair ended up winning the match to keep her title in what was the first one-on-one Women’s Ladder Match on the WWE main roster.

In an interview with Fightful, Bianca Belair revealed that she was very nervous before the ladder match.

“Uhm, it was nerve-wracking. I had never been in a ladder match before, I had never even set up a ladder in the ring. The ladders are a lot heavier than you think. But no, I was excited to make history. I’ve made so much history with Bayley, Bayley was one of the first feuds I had coming to onto SmackDown and she introduced me to this crowd. So being able to make history with Bayley was amazing, in Philadelphia as well.”

“It was fun but it was nerve-wracking. I remember before the match started I freaked out because I couldn’t find my title. I was like ‘Where’s my title?’ before the entrance and they were like ‘You are in a ladder match.’ I’ve never done this before guys, okay? [laughs]”

As for the future, Bianca Belair will defend the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39 against the winner of the Women’s Elimination Chamber match at Elimination Chamber on February 18th. The six women in that match are Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Natalya and Carmella. The favorites to win are Asuka and Rodriguez.
