Reason Becky Lynch vs. Bayley Was Scrapped At WWE Raw 30

Raw’s 30th anniversary show was meant to see Becky Lynch take on Bayley and now the real reason that the match was scrapped has been revealed.

The issues between Bayley and Becky Lynch have escalated in recent weeks with Lynch finally challenging her fellow Four Horsewoman to a steel cage match on the 30th anniversary of Raw.

With many legends and WWE Hall of Famers in attendance, the fans in Philadelphia were set for the huge match with both women entering the cage. However, rather than a match Bayley and her Damage CTRL teammates IYO SKY and Dakota Kai locked themselves in the cage and delivered a beating to Lynch. That was only stopped when Adam Pearce used bolt cutters to break into the cage to stop the vicious assault.

Fightful Select has now reported that “an audible was called” by WWE after Lynch and Bayley had their time cut significantly for the bout. The report adds that the cage match and entrances were meant to run for two segments but with The Trial of Sami Zayn running long, WWE had to claw back time elsewhere throughout the show.

With Bayley and Becky Lynch faced with having a cage match that may have only lasted a couple of minutes, they chose to shoot the angle with the beatdown instead.

The Trial of Sami Zayn led to Roman Reigns issuing the Honorary Uce with a “final test” that he must face to prove his loyalty at the Royal Rumble.
