Austin Theory Confirms Huge WWE WrestleMania 42 Rumor
Austin Theory is going to be a part of this year’s WrestleMania 42. He is set to team up with Logan Paul and IShowSpeed against LA Knight and The Usos.
For weeks, The Vision and The Usos have been feuding on Monday Night Raw. On the March 30 episode of the flagship show, Jimmy and Jey Uso defended their World Tag Team Championship against Logan Paul and Austin Theory.
During the match, Speed, who was sitting at ringside, accidentally knocked out Knight with brass knuckles while trying to defend himself. The distraction allowed Logan Paul to capitalize and use the brass knuckles on Jimmy Uso to get a pinfall victory and become the new World Tag Team Champions.
After the loss, The Megastar confronted Speed during his livestream and attacked him. Knight then demanded a match at WrestleMania, which led Raw General Manager Adam Pearce to officially book the six-man tag team bout at the Showcase of the Immortals this year.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select recently reported that the six-man tag team match is going to be the opening match of Night One on April 18. Speaking on The Mark Hoke Show Pro Wrestling Radio / Podcast, Austin Theory confirmed that his bout will kick off WrestleMania 42 Night One.
Theory said, “WrestleMania 42, Allegiant Stadium, get your tickets, Ticketmaster. ESPN, get the app. That’s where we’re gonna be. Night one. Match one is what I’m hearing. So, that’s how you kick off the show right there.” H/T Fightful
The night 1 main event will feature Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton (with Pat McAfee) for the Undisputed WWE Championship. McAfee has announced that he will leave the professional wrestling business for good if Orton loses to Rhodes at Mania.
Austin Theory Wants Pat McAfee Out Of WWE
Speaking of McAfee, Austin Theory recently criticized Pat McAfee’s current WWE angle. In a recent interview, he was asked about McAfee’s return and alliance with Randy Orton, to which he responded by saying that McAfee should quit WWE and leave the spotlight to younger stars like him and Logan Paul.
“I think whatever is going on there, that’s just for that lane. I think for me personally, I really don’t care what he says. I think he’s an old guy, too. So, all these guys, they’re just, you know, they’re sitting there with dust all over them and they need to get out of here. It’s time for the shiny stuff.
It’s time for the greatest tag team champions of all time, Austin Theory and Logan Paul to, you know, let the world know that The Vision is clear and it has nothing to do with a CM Punk, a Roman Reigns, none of this, a Cody Rhodes. We’re done. How many times do we have to see this? Like, we’re just done with it, man.” H/T Ringside News
