Andrade Brings Ex-AEW Star To WWE SmackDown

One former AEW star has been spotted backstage at WWE SmackDown as they joined Andrade at the show.

News broke on the 3rd of April that several members of the AEW roster have been cut by Tony Khan in a marked change to how the company deals with exits from the company. Previously releases had been dealt with on a case-by-case basis and this was the first mass release in the company’s five-year history.

Dasha, Jose The Assistant, Jora Johl, The Boys, Gravity, Stu Grayson, Parker Boudreaux, and Slim J were all let go. Jose The Assistant was originally aligned on TV with Andrade El Idolo during his stint in AEW and had also been seen with La Faccion Ingorbernable. Andrade returned to WWE in January 2024 at the Royal Rumble and questions have been asked about Jose’s possible future with the company.

Andrade Joined By Ex-AEW Star At SmackDown

Fightful Select has reported that Jose The Assistant was backstage at the recent WWE SmackDown in Orlando with Andrade and that the former AEW star was there for the duration of the show. Jose had also been at a recent set of TV tapings which were also held in the state of Florida.

Andrade was in action on that episode of SmackDown as he continued his feud with former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. Hayes picked up the win over the current WWE Speed Champion at the third time of asking.
