And Still!! The Vanity Project Retain NXT Titles; Secure Debut Stand & Deliver Win
WWE NXT hosted its biggest event of the year tonight with the Stand & Deliver PLE taking place in St. Louis, Missouri. The fans are set to witness all NXT championships being defended on the show.
The night began with the first title match of the night, which saw Lola Vice become the first-ever Cuban Women’s champion in WWE as she defeated Jacy Jayne and Kendal Grey for the Women’s Title.
The next match on the card was the one for the tag team championships where Los Americanos, who won the number one contender’s tournament, challenged The Vanity Project.
Both teams had one person present on ringside as El Grande Americano supported the challengers while Jackson Drake was out in support of the tag team champions.
Vanity Project win their first match at NXT Stand & Deliver
It was a highly entertaining and fast paced match between these four atheletic high-flyers. Both duos came extremely close to winning the belts with multiple near falls happening almost every minute.
Grande and Drake both tried to help their teams get the win, but only one could succeed. Despite taking Drake out with a flying headbutt, El Grande Americano couldn’t do much for his proteges.
Jackson Drake recovered to knock Rayo out with a right arm to the forehead, that already had the metal place behind the mask. The referee didn’t see the interference and Vanity Project took advantage. Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor hit a double team suplex/DDT combination to pin Rayo and retain the NXT Tag Team Championships.
