This WWE Legend Believes AJ Styles’ career is not done and dusted.

Last year, AJ Styles announced that he would retire from wrestling in 2026.

Despite his statement, no one saw his retirement coming in the early months of 2026. His final match was against Gunther at the Royal Rumble PLE on January 31st, with the stipulation that AJ Styles would have to put his career on the line to face the Ring General a second time (after their initial match on Raw a couple of weeks before).

The Phenomenal One passed out after being put into Gunther’s deadly sleeperhold, effectively ending his WWE career.

Although his decade-long career with the Stamford-based promotion has now ended, there’s no confirmation that Styles will not wrestle again in other promotions. One indication of this, as observed by some, is his gesture of taking off his gloves after the match but putting them back on and not leaving them in the ring.

WWE Legend Matt Hardy firmly believes he will wrestle again, most likely in TNA.

AJ Styles Isn’t Done With Wrestling, Feels Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy’s The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast account on X posted a video of Hardy saying he feels Styles has more matches left to wrestle and that he could go to TNA and help elevate the brand.

He also says wrestling fans would like to see Styles in AEW, especially with major stars like Samoa Joe on the roster and Styles’ association with Christopher Daniels.

TNA is in a position where AJ Styles could greatly elevate the company. He would be a big deal. So, I would love to see him there… I do not think he’s done. I 100% think AJ [Styles] will wrestle again, and I feel, in my heart, that it will end up being in TNA.

AEW’s Head of Talent, Christopher Daniels, also recently posted about Styles’ retirement, calling him “Elite”.
