AJ Styles Slams Fan Claiming He Should’ve Retired In AEW, Not WWE
AJ Styles will retire in WWE.
Last year, The Phenomenal One broke the news to the WWE Universe that he would retire in 2026.
He didn’t provide a specific date but announced that 2026 will be his last year as an active wrestler.
He has said that he wants to retire before his body can no longer move and before he embarrasses himself in the ring, emphasizing pride in how fans remember him.
He also stressed the need to spend more time with his family after over three decades on the road.
Styles has mentioned that this WWE contract will be his last and has shown interest in moving into a trainer or producer role once his in‑ring run ends.
This means that he’ll hang up his wrestling boots in WWE.
AJ Styles Hits Back At A Fan
A user on X posted a tweet targeting AJ Styles, claiming that the 48-year-old veteran should’ve retired in AEW, but he chose WWE over AEW because of the money.
The WWE star clapped back at the fan with a stark response:
Styles wrote, “I’ll take dumbest things to ever have been said for 100 Alex.”

AJ Styles has built an impressive resume over the years, performing in different wrestling promotions all across the world.
He’s been part of NJPW, ROH, TNA, and many Mexican and Japanese independent circuits. But he has never worked for AEW.
Earlier, there were rumors that Styles could join AEW to write his last chapter in pro wrestling before he rides off into the sunset.
However, Styles is very much satisfied with his career and has made it clear that he’ll retire in WWE.
