AJ Styles Suspected To Be Leaving WWE For Another Promotion

One WWE Hall of Famer is playing detective when it comes to AJ Styles.

AJ Styles has had a career like no other and is the only wrestling star recognised as holding the TNA World Title, the WWE Championship, and the IWGP Heavyweight Title. But that career looked like it came to an end at the Royal Rumble.

At the Rumble, Gunther convinced AJ Styles to put his career on the line against him as The Ring General looked to make it a hat trick of recent retirements after seeing off Goldberg and John Cena in 2025. The outcome of that match was spoiled by another WWE star before it took place, and it came to pass that Gunther picked up the huge win, sending Styles off into the sunset.

However, Styles didn’t leave his gloves in the ring as he teased, and before the match, he filed for new trademarks for his ring name and his “P1” logo, indicating that it’s perhaps only his WWE career that’s over.

AJ Styles Going Elsewhere?

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash gave Sherlock Holmes a run for his money on his Kliq This podcast, where he questioned Styles’ plans for his future:

I looked at the little tiny things like, AJ got his the rights to his name and his ‘Phenomenal One’… that came out like today, and I’m thinking, so does that… mean he’s going someplace else?

If Styles does end up elsewhere, Nash noted that Gunther can still lay claim to retiring the star in WWE:

Gunther can say he doesn’t have a career… but that means to me that, you know, there’s in that universe, the WWE Universe, no other wrestling exists. It’s kind of like Marvel… there’s not a whole lot of talk during a Marvel film about f***ing Batman. [h/t WrestlingNews.co]
