AJ Lee is the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion who has no problem poking fun at herself.

It was a very successful WWE Elimination Chamber PLE for World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and his wife, AJ Lee, in their home city of Chicago.

In what was her first singles match in a WWE ring in over a decade, AJ Lee beat Becky Lynch to become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion thanks to the Black Widow submission. Later in the show, Punk beat Finn Balor to keep the World Heavyweight Title.

For Lee, it’s been an incredible comeback story since she returned to the WWE ring in September 2025 at Wrestlepalooza to team with Punk in a match where they beat Lynch and her husband, Seth Rollins. Since then, Lee has continued to impress.

Recently, a Jim Carrey public appearance drew a lot of attention because of how different he looks facially. That led WWE’s Lyra Valkyria to comment on an AJ Lee photo, saying it looked like Lee had frozen time.

As a reply to what Lyra wrote, Lee had this playful response.

Hahaha I guess I look slightly less emo now.

AJ Lee Loved Winning Women’s IC Title In Chicago

After winning the Women’s Intercontinental Title at Elimination Chamber, AJ Lee spoke about what it meant to her.

“Amazing. It feels right to have done this in Chicago. I don’t know if you guys remember, but my first title, the Divas Title, was won here in Chicago.

So good. Surreal. I felt like it took forever to get her to actually tap. It was the longest moment of my life, just waiting to see if she would give up, and she did. And it’s surreal to 11 years later be a champion again.”

On the WWE Raw episode that followed Elimination Chamber, AJ Lee did a promo about how she was there to take on all comers for her title. Surprisingly, there was nobody there to interrupt her promo. It’s possible that Lee faces Becky Lynch again at WrestleMania, but WWE could go in another direction.
