After Brock Lesnar, WWE Could Be Rocked By Another Sudden Retirement At Backlash
A Vision member made a bold statement about a major WWE star ahead of his match at Backlash this Saturday.
The WWE Universe is still processing Brock Lesnar’s ambiguous exit. At WrestleMania 42, Lesnar lost to Oba Femi, then removed his gloves and boots in the ring – a gesture that signaled retirement, though WWE has yet to officially confirm it.
Most backstage believed it was not his formal retirement, with a final match at SummerSlam in Minneapolis still widely expected. That situation remains unresolved. Now, before WWE fans even get clarity on The Beast’s situation, another retirement conversation is already brewing heading into Backlash.
WWE Backlash is set to take place on May 9 at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, and Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker is the match drawing the most attention. The rivalry has been bitter. Rollins, the former leader of The Vision, will face the faction he helped build. Breakker has publicly said he wants to end this story at Backlash. Austin Theory went further.
Austin Theory on Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker at WWE Backlash
Speaking on ESPN SportsCenter, Austin Theory shared his take on the outcome of the match.
Oh, man, Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins. Well, you know those magic shows where, you know, the person gets cut in half? Well, that’s going to be Seth Rollins.
He continued by saying Breakker will win by using his spear, and The Visionary’s in-ring career will come to an end.
We just don’t need the box and the magic, we just need Bron Breakker and that Spear… this dudes a dog. So, Seth Rollins might have to retire after Saturday. [H/T WrestleTalk]
Breakker and Rollins were supposed to clash at WrestleMania 42, but real-life injuries to both men led to the plans being scrapped. The Visionary ended up facing Gunther instead. Seth appeared to have won the contest, but a surprise return by Bron Breakker cost him the victory.
It remains to be seen who comes out victorious at Backlash.
