AEW World Championship Number One Contender’s Revealed

AEW World Champion MJF has been involved in a feud with Brodido since becoming the champion at the end of last year. Bandido became the first person to challenge MJF in his second reign.

MJF defeated Bandido during their championship match last month, but proceeded to disrespect him in the ring before being chased away by Brody King.

King then announced his intention of challenging MJF for the World Championship, but the champ instead mocked him and asked him to earn huge victories first before thinking about the title.

AEW Grand Slam match set up at Dynamite tonight

Brody took MJF up on the challenge and instead scheduled an Eliminator match for himself with the Salt of the Earth for tonight. They main evented tonight’s show, which was interrupted by Hangman Page shortly after it began.

MJF got distracted by the former World Champion and Brody King took advantage of the situation and proceeded to squash MJF quickly and pick up the win, setting a World Championship match for himself at next week’s AEW Grand Slam in Australia.
