AEW Women’s World Championship Bout Delivers After Weeks Of Bad Blood
Three major AEW Championship matches were scheduled for tonight’s show in Austin, Texas, including a major clash for the Women’s World Championship.
The first major title match of the night saw Mark Briscoe defend his TNT Championship against El Clon of the Don Callis Family, who will also be competing in another title match later in the night.
The second title bout of the night saw Kris Statlander put her Women’s World Championship on the line against the Toxic Spider, Thekla, who headed into the match high on confidence as she pinned Kris a couple of weeks back.

Thekla dominated much of the match in the beginning, but Kris Statlander didn’t back down from the fight and turned the bout in her favor on every occasion.
It was a pretty evenly matched fight between the two talented women, which saw them push each other to the limit. Thekla came close to hitting the spear twice to end the match, but Statlander evaded both times.

The second time she evaded, Statlander reversed it into a gutwrentch powerbomb on the challenger, before following it up with the Friday Night Fever to retain the title.
