AEW Tag Team Are Now The Highest-Paid In History

AEW The Young Bucks

The Young Bucks have set a record with their new AEW contracts.

As announced on Wednesday, August 2nd, Matt and Nick Jackson have made the decision alongside Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page to remain All Elite for the foreseeable future. Along with a lighter schedule and more time with their families, a substantial financial reward has also been given to the former Tag Team Champions.

As reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Bucks’ new contract contains the highest guarantee a tag team have ever received in their contract, being paid more than what Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were receiving at the height of their run in WCW. It should be noted that the financial comparisons are looking at figures only, and have not adjusted late 90’s contracts in line with inflation.

The news was broken to the Jackson brothers by Barry Bloom, who has been the representative for all of The Elite’s new contract negotiations. The Elite had also agreed to a pact that wherever they decide to go, they would remain as a group. The decision to remain with Tony Khan’s promotion was not an easy one, as the quartet did go back and forth on which promotion to sign with.

What Role Do The Young Bucks Have In AEW?

Matt and Nick Jackson serve as both on-air talent and Executive Vice Presidents in All Elite Wrestling. The duo have held the Tag Team Championships twice in AEW, along with two reigns as Trios Champions with Kenny Omega.

The Young Bucks feel that All Elite Wrestling will always be their home, and the company would not be the same without them. Upon giving an interview after the news had broke that The Elite had re-signed with the company, Matt Jackson stated that they are the E in AEW.
