AEW Star Toni Storm Quits Pro Wrestling
According to Toni Storm, her time with AEW is over.
Toni Storm hasn’t appeared in AEW since losing the Women’s World Title to Mariah May at All In. Although she hasn’t featured in AEW, Storm has continued to wrestle in Japan and Mexico, although neither run saw her pick up a singles win as she failed to capture the IWGP Women’s Title.
Storm’s feud with May, has been one of the high points for many fans in 2024, and those same fans have been expecting Storm to return to get her revenge. But if the woman herself is to be believed, a comeback won’t be happening.
Is This The End For “Timeless” Toni Storm?
During an interview with James Dator of SBNation, Storm has now claimed she’s leaving wrestling behind after failing in AEW, Mexico, and Japan.
“I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that. AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm.”
Storm closed the interview by saying “Chin down. Tits in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”
Fans have been quick to point out that Kenny Omega recently used similar language when discussing his own wrestling future, and apparent return to Japan. Meanwhile, others have suggested this could be Storm’s way of retiring her “Timeless” character before returning with a different persona at Full Gear.
Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa are set to hold a Champagne Championship Celebration at Full Gear on November 23rd. There’s been a great deal of speculation that this could be the moment Storm — or a new version of her character at least, will return to the fold.
