AEW Star “Sure As Hell Hopes” Long-Running Feud Is Over

AEW Logo over roster

An AEW star hopes that a feud which has run across multiple years and wrestling promotions may finally be at an end.

Over the last couple of months, the bitter rivalry between current ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston seemed to pick up pace once again. Their battles go far beyond the black and gold of AEW, back to their days in Chikara.

However it was last year when they started going at it again, and whatever feud either man has been in there’s always been an undertone that they could collide again at any time.

Castagnoli Hopeful Of All Out Finale

At All In from Wembley Stadium the pair did battle as part of the Stadium Stampede match, brawling around the venue before heading back to ringside – with a bloodied up Kingston taking out everyone in the ring before putting Jon Moxley through a table in the corner.

The rivalry didn’t stop there, as the Blackpool Combat Club combination of Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta were victorious in a match against Eddie Kingston and NJPW star Katsuyori Shibata.

In a backstage interview following the match, Castagnoli didn’t need to say much around whether he hopes the rivalry with Eddie Kingston might finally be at an end.

I sure as hell hope so.

As you can expect in professional wrestling, a line like this can easily be taken with a pinch of salt, especially when it comes to someone with gold around their waist and a rivalry which has gone on for so long. However for now, it seems like Claudio Castagnoli won’t be seeking out Eddie Kingston in an AEW ring.
