AEW Star Leaps To Defence Of The Young Bucks

The Young Bucks AEW

Sting is set to end his illustrious career at AEW Revolution and it looks like he’ll be doing it against one of the most polarising tag teams in wrestling history.

The Young Bucks confronted Sting and Darby Allin on Dynamite ending their exile from AEW having last been seen losing to Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega at Full Gear in November 2023. Although no match has yet been confirmed Matt and Nick Jackson interrupted Sting before he was about to reveal his final opponent indicating that it would be them.

Reports note that Sting handpicked The Young Bucks to work with in his final outing as he looks to cap off a legendary career by remaining undefeated in AEW.

Matt Hardy Defends AEW Rivals

However, some fans simply don’t like The Young Bucks and were unhappy with the proposed match. Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, AEW’s Matt Hardy came to the team’s defence and claimed The Bucks are very underrated:

I say it here ad nauseam and once again to p*ss everyone off that is not on The Young Bucks train. The Bucks are truly amazing. They’re so good, they know what they’re doing. They can lead people that are a little older [and] their bodies are a little more broken down. They can lead them to great matches, they’re just so talented. They’re really really good and they’re truly underrated. Like their actual work as a tag team is underrated.

I know a lot of people give them a hard time because it’s oh, they’re spot monkeys and they do this and they do that or they play politics because they’re EVPs. They’re both good dudes, and they’re both incredible professional wrestlers. And if that does end up being Sting’s final match Sting and Darby versus The Young Bucks, they’re going to tear the house down. It’s going to be great, guaranteed.

Matt’s brother Jeff Hardy recently vented his frustration over The Hardy’s current role in AEW where they are struggling to make it on main shows.
